The first in Russia department of UNESCO-Custo is opened on the basis of Southern federal university. The agreement on opening on the basis of SFU of the department of ecotechnology UNESCO-Custo on preservation and steady use of a biodiversity of steppe and water-marsh systems has been signed by the General director of UNESCO Irina Bokovaya. Department creation can form a basis for formation of a network of departments of Custo in Russia. In SFU the new division will work on the basis of other department of ecology and wildlife management which achievements have played a key role in UNESCO decision to open the first Russian department of UNESCO-Custo in Rostov-on-Don. «We hope that in cooperation with nature protection structures scientifically-educational projects of new department will outgrow to applied ecotechnologies. It is necessary to notice that the Committee on preservation of the environment and natural resources in Rostov region became one of initiators of creation of the department of UNESCO-Custo on the basis of ecology and wildlife management of the SFU department», — has specified vice-president of the department of ecology and wildlife management, professor Sergey Kolesnikov.
